B Corp ™, a continuation of our values
Career Moves Group has embarked on an exciting new chapter in our company’s history. B Corps are businesses that meet stringent standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency and legal accountability. By achieving this certification we’ve joined a global community of over 8,000 B Corps spanning 96 countries and 162 industries all united in their mission to redefine success in modern business.
The journey to becoming a B Corp™ wasn’t easy. Our business underwent a rigorous assessment process scrutinising every aspect of our operations across five key areas: governance, workers, environment, customers and community. This comprehensive evaluation ensured that we meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance.
B Corp™, a global community
By becoming a B Corp™ we’ve joined a global endeavour that’s reshaping the economy to benefit all people, communities and the planet. We’re proud to be at the forefront of this within the recruitment sector and we’re truly excited about the positive changes we can drive in our industry.
Most importantly, our B Corp™ certification is a legal commitment for us to consider the impact of our decisions on all business stakeholders, not just shareholders. This legal requirement fundamentally alters our corporate structure ensuring that our commitment to world-wide issues is embedded into every aspect of our business.
The Impact of B Corps
One of the most striking elements of B Corps is their commitment to diversity and inclusion. Recent statistics demonstrate the positive impact of the B Corp™ movement in creating more diverse and inclusive workplaces: B Corps lead their non-certified counterparts on several employee-related measures. 84% of B Corp™ leadership teams include at least one woman, compared with 55% across all SMEs. The average gender pay gap among B Corps is 4%, compared with 15% for the average employer.
In Europe specifically, more than a third of B Corps™ are woman-led, and 45% have a majority of female managers. This is particularly notable given that women make up only 10-20% of mixed entrepreneurial networks.
Our B Corp™ Impact score
At Career Moves Group, we’re very proud to contribute to these positive uptrends. Our overall B Impact Score of 90.4 significantly outperforms the average score of 80.1 for ordinary businesses. This score reflects our dedication to professionally balance profit with purpose across various aspects of our operations. Our assessment results highlight several areas where we’ve excelled:
- Governance: We achieved a perfect score of 10 out of 10 for our Impact Business Model. This exceptional result reflects our ability to embed social and environmental considerations into the very core of our business strategy. It demonstrates that we’ve successfully integrated purpose and profit, ensuring that our governance structure and decision-making processes prioritise positive impact alongside financial performance.
- Workers: Our score of 4.6 out of 6 in Career Development demonstrates our significant investment in our employees’ growth and success. This strong performance extends to our Engagement & Satisfaction score, where we also achieved 4.6 out of 6.5. These results highlight our dedication to creating a workplace environment that not only fosters professional development but also prioritises employee well-being and job satisfaction. We’re committed to nurturing talent and providing opportunities for our team members to thrive both personally and professionally.
- Community We scored 8.9 out of 15 in Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion, showcasing our concerted efforts to create a more inclusive workplace and recruitment process. This score reflects our commitment to developing a diverse and equitable environment, both within our organisation and in the broader community we serve.
Some standout practices that contributed to our high scores include our robust career development programs and plans to work with Career Ready, a programme offering work experience to people from disadvantaged backgrounds. We also have a supplier code of conduct for businesses we work with, outlining the standards and expectations we adhere to in areas such as ethics, labour practices, environmental responsibility, human rights and compliance with laws and regulations.
The B Corp™ journey continues
While we’re proud of these achievements, we recognise that becoming a B Corp™ is just the beginning of our journey. We’re committed to continuous improvement and to setting new standards in the recruitment industry. By continually levelling our successful business practices with our values, we aim to create impactful and positive change.
