Practically Perfect Assist Conference 2017
- 6 Mar 2017
The attendee’s all arrived for a networking breakfast where they got to meet other EAs and PAs over a croissant and coffee. Throughout the day we were treated to a range of wonderful guest speakers who all delivered insightful and motivational key notes to the attendees.
After a lunch filled with yummy food and lots of networking it was then onto the workshops.
The Career Moves workshop was chaired by Head of Office Support, Sarah Savage, who was joined by a panel of 3 EA’s and our Senior Account Manager, Emma Raywood. The panel members talked through their own careers, what they feel has helped them to get to where they are today, the importance of networking and key tips for career development.
We were so honoured to have our panel members speak on the day. They are all incredible EAs with fantastic careers:
Marianna Maniatakis is currently EA to CPeO of MoneySuperMarket Group. Her earlier career includes being a Newsroom Manager for GMTV, before spending many years supporting various Directors and teams at Sky where she worked on some of their most pioneering products. She then joined the MD of Commercial, Interactive and Online at ITV before moving to her current role.
Andy McGrath is EA to the Chairman and CEO at M&C SaatchiMerlin. He has assisted some of the most senior industry professionals within highly desirable technology, entertainment and FMCG brands including Coca-Cola, Music Choice and ITV where he supported the Director of Television.
Tony Gilchrist is EA to the Deputy Director-General at the BBC. He previously worked for The Walt Disney Company, supporting the General Manager of EMEA Home Entertainment, and Channel 4 working as EA to Anne Bulford, Chief Operating Officer. In 2013 Tony moved to the BBC with Anne when she was appointed Managing Director, Finance and Operations. In mid-2016 Anne was promoted to Deputy Director-General and he continues on as her dedicated EA.
Each panel member gave us some incredible insights into their career to date, their experiences and advice for the attendees. We were very privileged to have them with us on the day.
