UX Researcher

Job description

UX Researcher

Location: London

Length: 12 months

Rate: £43-46 p/h

Hours: 9am-6pm

We believe Augmented Reality will create a seamless combined virtual and real world, enabling people to be present, connected, and richly engaged with people, places and objects they care about.

The Spark team is building towards that future by enabling a global community of creators and developers to imagine, create and share augmented reality experiences that reach the billions of people using our client's family of apps and devices.

As a research team, we see our role as advocating for users, and arming our product teams with the insights and inspiration they need to build with confidence. We’re looking for a talented researcher to join our Spark AR Research team to conduct research with AR primarily with consumers and with creators/AR studios where required.

The Role:

For this role, we are looking for a *mixed methods researcher*, with a good understanding of quantitative and qualitative methods (e.g. surveys, in-depth-interviews, usability testing).

Strong communication skills, and flexible & creative approach to research will be important as well as a proven ability to run small-scale research projects with minimal supervision.

In this role, you will help to evaluate sets of features on a regular basis (rolling research) by implementing standard processes for understanding usability and the readiness for market of various features. In addition, you will also run ad hoc research to investigate the usability and user value of new proposed designs and features, working closely with prototypers, engineering and cross-functional stakeholders to support tactical product-centric work

You’ll be working closely with our technical product teams - and alongside another senior researcher - who are based in Zurich, to develop solutions for the use of AR in Commerce.

Skills:

The right candidates will be strong communicators and relationship builders; knowledgeable about digital design & design research; and will feel excited by an autonomous position where you’ll be expected to seek out impact and ruthlessly prioritise your own workload, with guidance and support from your manager.

Preferred candidates will have experience in conducting impactful research to steer digital products, design research, & qualitative and small-scale usability testing.

Education:

Minimum:

  • 3+ years' experience in UX research or related field
  • BA/BS degree, ideally in a human behavior related field or humanities
  • Experience working on research for digital product innovation

Preferred:

  • Experience conducting research for emerging early-stage technologies
  • Knowledge and experience of e-commerce, fashion, or shopper research
