Policy Specialist

Rate: £26.20 Per hour PAYE (Approx £54,496 per annum)
Hours: 9am – 6pm

This is a hybrid role, so you will split your time between home office and the clients offices in central London. On-site you will be able to access their amazing facilities and quirky working spaces, as well as free breakfast/ lunch/ dinner, on-site gyms, outdoor spaces and roof gardens, wellness rooms and sleep pods.?
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Execute complete tasks within the scope of a larger policy launch or cross-functional work projects that have meaningful impact under guidance from a manager.
- Enforce scalable policies and processes for handling legal content removal requests from EMEA countries.
- Drive innovation regarding best practices for implementing such policies.
- Deliver results and basic policy or process launches and key parts of the project.
- Select appropriate approaches from clear options to address challenges under some guidance from manager or senior team members and execute parts of prioritized project work.
- Frame basic process issues for decision-making, gather and analyse data to ensure a solid understanding of the root cause of a problem.
- Apply standard tools, resources, and processes to analyse and solve defined policy issues within a moderately complex policy launch or project.
- Escalate complex challenges to senior team members or managers in a timely manner and assist in addressing those challenges.
- Recognize when to make recommendations outside of established procedures, identify potential solutions when escalating issues and anticipates follow-up issues.
- Collaborate within a team setting by sharing relevant knowledge and policy or process information.
- Develop working relationships outside the team to contribute to cross-project collaborations, seek out opportunities to support, help and work with others, and engage in initiatives across the team, peers and managers.
- Foster a respectful and inclusive work environment for everyone on the team.
- Follow direction on timing, goals, and objectives within a set of projects.
- Manage expectations around deadlines and deliverables with stakeholders.
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of end-to-end policy implementation including operational components.

- Identify policy issues that may affect the organisation.
- Identify and analyse policy issues that may, today or in the future, affect the organisation.
- Manage policy escalations
- Resolve policy escalations from start to finish with some guidance.
Skill/Experience/Education
- Mandatory Communication skills
- Ability to effectively communicate across audiences, situations, and contexts in both a written and oral format to effectively communicate compensation plans, policies, and practices to the organisations audiences. This includes understanding when one’s communication style needs to change or adapt to increase effectiveness and influence.
- Community knowledge of online, international, and multilingual communities.
- Crisis management, understanding of the processes by which the organisation deals with disruptive and unexpected events that threaten to harm it as well as its stakeholders, or the general public.
- Language fluency, ability to use native-like fluency in French.
- Policy fundamentals, knowledge of fundamentals of policies, including knowledge of the product platforms. Regulatory process Understanding of the internet policy and legal or regulatory frameworks.
