​Salary: Circa €90,000 plus benefits

Location: Dublin (Ireland)

A globally successful Advertising, Marketing and PR agency with a large presence in the UK and U.S markets has a successful subsidiary in Ireland. They are looking to appoint a Head of HR to work in what is logistically a stand alone role delivering HR strategy for the Ireland business. As Head of People – Ireland, you will serve as a strategic business partner focused on a broad-based and transformational people agenda designed to find, grow and keep the very best people in the business.

Your primary responsibilities will be to:

  • Build relationships with your leadership team and employees in order to gain the credibility and influence the business, develop a thorough understanding of the business needs and challenges as well as how the business operates

  • Provide strong counsel in your business area, identify high level solutions and implement new ideas

  • Change Management: Plan and execute all elements of restructuring, redundancy and cost saving initiatives

  • Develop an understanding of the commercial landscape of the Operating Companies and wider Group and how this influences training & development decision making

  • Providing line management support and career coaching to the group as a whole

To succeed in the role, you will:

  • Work with the exec team to understand what the future people needs

  • Partner with exec team to ensure that the business is attracting and recruiting a diverse blend (in all senses) of future people through a variety of programmes

  • Develop and execute an Employee Value Proposition which will reflect the business culture and ensure the company are positioned competitively in the recruiting space. Partner the exec team to make the company the employer of choice for top quality of industry people

  • Ensure that the ‘beautiful basics’ are in place and executed in a timely, professional way, with an appropriate tone of voice. This includes all administrative and policy areas, from pay and benefits (working closely with the Operations Manager) through to role descriptions, offer letters, inductions planned, etc.

  • Provide strong commercial advice and be solution orientated. You will have your finger on the pulse in terms of engagement levels within your internal client groups and you will pay a key part in shaping and evolving the culture of these teams

  • Manage all employee relations issues, educating the business to take accountability and manage risk

  • Drive and coordinate salary reviews and promotions

  • Facilitate the delivery of performance and people management processes; succession planning, key roles and individuals

  • Work within the parameters of the Global Comp, whilst constantly looking for new and innovative ways of rewarding people, both financially and non-financially

  • Partner managers to meet and exceed people objectives for their area or function

  • Provide counsel on various employee relations issues and organisational development initiatives

  • Work in partnership with the executive team to develop a retention strategy which is relevant to the business challenges

  • Evolve and facilitate ongoing performance culture, ensuring a culture of honest, open and regular feedback at all levels, with goals and development needs identified

As the successful candidate you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Extensive experience of HR and coaching, preferably demonstrated in other creative industries

  • CIPD qualified

  • Confident, calm, with experience of successfully navigating a complex matrix with several key stakeholders

  • Sound employment law and employee relations knowledge

  • Innovative, brave approach to people solutions

  • Can demonstrate implementation of a people strategy and agenda to fit business needs

  • Both a strategic inspirer and a smooth operator - prepared to adjust approach dependent on situation and individuals involved

  • Consultative approach to business partnering

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Delivery focused with a solutions oriented approach
