This client is a multinational alcoholic beverages company, and one of the largest and most prominent spirits and beer producers globally. With a plethora of well-known and recognisable alcohol brands to their name, this client are a leader in the global FMCG space.
The Project Safety Lead role will be a direct link between the Lead Project Manager/ Project Engineer, PC / Contractor / Subcontractors; and DGE internal management structure. While the Project Safety Lead is the go-to person for all aspects of safety on the project, the Contractor will retain full responsibility for implementing safety on the project.
For this role this includes:
- Must have construction experience and have core competencies in managing safety in construction.
- Use their H&S specialist knowledge to support capex projects, working closely with Capex Project Engineers, Principal Contractors and contractors as described in the DGE standards and guidance.
- Support the engineering team on providing visible safety leadership on projects
- Ensure Contractors and Subcontractors are working to our client’s expectations, standards, and values.
- Facilitates safety workshops with contractors
- Facilitates Site Impact Meeting with Project Managers / Engineers, PC / Contractors, and Site Operations
- Participate and ensure daily Whiteboard meetings and toolbox talks are being carried out.
- Reporting and Investigating project incidents and accidents supported by Project Engineer
- Monitors effectiveness of contractor controls in line with our client’s SFIP GRMS e.g. WAH, CSE, Lifting Operations, Contractor Management, Electrical Systems and LOTO.
- Undertake inspection/audits/GEMBA walks throughout the life of the project.
- Participate in the immediate corrective action walkdowns
The role holder while primarily be supporting projects in Runcorn but may be required to support other GBS business areas, this will be determined by business priorities.
Skills:
- Strong health and safety management experience in construction safety and relevant qualification i.e. NEBOSH or equivalent.
- Knowledge and experience of CDM legislation (CDM Regulations (NI) 2016)
- Considerable experience and professional development in areas Health & Safety Management, Construction / Project / Civil Management.
- Good at networking to establish excellent relationships, effective influencer, with excellent communication skills.
