This is a hybrid role, so you will split your time between home office and the clients offices in central London. This organizations diverse internet businesses require VAT filings in a number of jurisdictions Internationally. We are looking for an experienced VAT analyst to join our International VAT Controllership team to focus on assisting the controllership manager with the Business online store. VAT Controllership is a well-established team based primarily in the UK and US, which is responsible for VAT Controllership across the Rest of World (ROW) region within the International team as well as providing support to Tax colleagues and the wider business. The role will have EU VAT focus, including design and implementation of VAT controls, identification and mitigation of VAT risk, management of control quality, and identification and implementation of process improvements. The role will involve also participation in the organizations business projects and will therefore also require project management ability, understanding of cross functional workings, financial systems, and technical accounting awareness.
Job responsibilities:
- Actively working as part of a team supporting cross functional project launches end-to-end, from scoping through to testing and launch
- Working with the tax advisory, tax and AB tech teams and the organizations business partners on the implementation of controls, including identification of internal risks and solutions to mitigate them.
- Mapping out business processes to ensure there is a clear understanding of risk areas.
- Actively contributing in the AB risk and the FAS 5 VAT provision process
- Providing data and metric support to the AB tax team and data analysis review processes
- Providing support and adhoc advice around the controllership processes to Tax colleagues as well as the Business and Accounting teams.
Basic qualifications:
- Basic qualifications 5+ years of experience in VAT, finance, or a related analytical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (public/private mix preferred).
- The candidate will need to be able to travel to the office locations (Manchester/ London) on 3 days a week.
Preferred qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will have: Experience in VAT compliance and/or consulting (5+years).
- Experience of compliance in European jurisdictions in an industry setting advantageous.
- A team player with a hands-on attitude.
- A good communicator with excellent inter-personal skills who is confident in communicating with others at all levels.

- A confident MS Excel user.
