Job description:

Reality Labs Research brings together a world-class team of researchers, developers, and engineers to create the future of virtual and augmented reality, which together will become as universal and essential as smartphones and personal computers are today. In particular, the Reality Labs Research Audio team is focused on two goals: creating virtual sounds that are perceptually indistinguishable from reality, and redefining human hearing. These two initiatives will allow us to connect people by allowing them to feel together despite being physically apart, and allow them to converse in even the most difficult listening environments.

The Data team is responsible for ensuring our machine learning researchers have the data they need to produce solutions to the above goals. We are therefore seeking a Project Coordinator to help oversee various projects within our Data team including coordinating annotation activities and managing and documenting our datasets.

Responsibilities:

  • General project coordination and administrative duties: Supporting project management efforts in the Data team, tracking project progress and managing timelines, coordinating internal communications etc. In addition, miscellaneous administrative tasks such as managing resources, administering internal processes, etc.
  • Annotation coordination: You will liaise with our annotations team and researchers to facilitate the annotation of their data. This will involve: Translating research scientists’ data annotation requirements into requirements for annotators and data engineers.
  • Working with multimedia data and managing annotation resources.
  • Tracking and communicating progress, and facilitating resolutions to issues.
  • Implementing metrics and generating reports on annotation efficiency and accuracy.
  • Create training material for annotators.
  • Data management: Management and documentation of our multimedia datasets, including details on how to access the data, any limitations on its use, and other relevant information. This will involve working with multiple internal teams, and working with spreadsheets, documents, internal wikis, etc.

Skills and experience:

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising tasks, tracking progress, and communicating with stakeholders.
  • Able to produce clear and concise documentation for effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Experience working with large spreadsheets or databases. For example, working with data in Microsoft Excel or in a database such as MySQL or Microsoft Access.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and time management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    Desired:
  • Previous experience with the annotation of datasets.
  • Knowledge of machine learning / artificial intelligence would be advantageous.
  • Programming or scripting experience, e.g. Python.
    Education:
  • Degree-educated or at least three years of relevant professional experience.
