Our client is a leading well-known post production facilities house. They are now looking for a Media Operator to join their busy team, to work a 7-day fortnight shift pattern.

The main purpose of the role will be to ensure the smooth and efficient completion of all processes in such departments as VT and File to Tape. Principle accountabilities for this role will include:

• Producing Quality Assurance Reports , dubs, and encodes from any file, HD / SD VT format or standard including using converters such as HD Alchemist
• Technical problem solving for VT media.
• Liaising with some clients regarding certain technical issues which might arise with a job
• Liaise closely with Schedulers, Bookings and Despatch to ensure work is completed to deadline
• Inform engineers if problems occur with any equipment.
• Comply with technical specifications to ensure quality & consistency of all work produced.
• Encode and distribute new media assets when required
• Monitor systems in anticipation of any technical problems, and escalating to line managers as they arise housekeeping
• Ensure that all operational procedures are followed to the required level of detail and accuracy

The ideal candidate for this role will possess an excellent knowledge of tape formats, and have come from a VT Ops background, with a knowledge of HD transfers. In addition, he or she will be experienced at carrying out QC checking and reporting, with a knowledge of broadcasting standards. They will be detail-oriented, conscientious, and able to adopt a flexible approach to their work.
