A well established and growing company are looking for a Financial Controller for a sole role in their London office. You will be heavily involved in the implementation of processes and systems to enable the smooth running of an independent Finance function that reports to a larger team based elsewhere in the UK.

The ideal candidate will be Qualified or Part-Qualified ACCA /CIMA (or equivalent) and will be a confident Accountant who is able to explain relatively complex Finance principles in non-financial terms.

A background in the construction, property or facilities management industry would be a real bonus, as you will be working independently and will be the first point of contact for Finance queries in the London office.

Duties to include:

•Implementing systems, procedures and workflows to ensure effective management and smooth operation of all Finances for the London office.
•Developing and controlling a full Finance system from start-to-finish
•Liaising with a larger Finance office based elsewhere in the UK
•Recommending relevant changes to improve overall operational performance
•Assisting with the preparation of monthly/statutory accounts, forecasting & budgeting
•Credit control and overall debt management for the London office and various related projects
•Complying to existing Accounting guidelines and frameworks

Key Competencies:

•A strong background working within Financial Control and a comprehensive understanding of all accounting principles (UK GAAP) – Essential
•Experience working within Construction, Facilities Management or Property industries – Highly Advantageous
•Qualified or Part-Qualified in ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) – Essential
•Good communication skills and the ability to build relationships – Essential
•Experience using Sage software – Desirable
•Advanced Level Microsoft Excel modelling skills (including Pivot tables & V-Lookups) – Essential
•An understanding of business processes, systems and workflows – Highly Desirable
•The ability to work independently and to self motivate – Essential
•Systems implementations, processes & workflows – Advantageous
•Methodical working methods, a thorough approach and excellent problem solving skills – Essential
