A well-established global Publishing company are looking for a Commercial Analyst to join their digital team based in Central London. You will be joining a busy, fast-moving team in the most rapidly growing area of the publishing industry.
You will need to have an understanding of the principles of Finance, budgets, business processes and commercial analysis, as well as having the highest level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel. The role is initially on a 9 months fixed-term basis, but there is the possibility of a permanent position at the end of this period.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an exciting area of a huge global brand and you will also get to work with key staff including Directors and high profile external clients. In return you will be expected to have passion, proficiency and a superb attitude and approach to work.
Duties to include:
•Assisting with overall budgeting and forecasting for the department
•Liaising with several departments to ensure that the budget & forecast are up-to-date and accurate
•Delivering financial improvement & implementing change across the business
•Providing P&L support to senior management
•Improving processes and workflows throughout the front-end delivery and back-office operation
•Analysing and modelling new projects to assess viability
•Attending internal & external meetings on new products and industry developments
Key Competencies:
•Exposure to working within a busy Finance department – Essential
•Relevant degree level education at 2:1 or higher (or equivalent) – Highly Advantageous
•Part Qualified CIMA/ACCA or equivalent – Desirable
•Knowledge of the publishing industry, with a particular focus on e-books and digital delivery methods (iPad, Kindle, Android etc) – Desirable
•Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships both internally & externally – Essential
•Advanced Level Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot tables/V-Lookups) – Essential
•Exposure to either Business Objects and Hyperion – Advantageous
•An understanding of business processes, workflows and systems – Essential
•Methodical working methods, a thorough approach and excellent problem solving skills – Essential

Package: circa £35k (dependant on experience)
